Hi Everyone
2009 is going to be a great year for us at Emmanuel, as we are celebrating our 40th year of being here in the Netherton area. The number 40 holds biblical significance for coming into the promises of God. It was for 40 days and nights it rained for Noah’s flood out of which a new start came. It was for 40 days and nights Moses went up the mountain and received the Law, his face radiant when he came down. It was after 40 years that Joshua brought the people out of the wilderness and took them into the Promised Land. David and Solomon both reigned for 40 years and it was after 40 days Jesus came out of the wilderness into His inheritance and proclaimed Isaiah 61, a very special verse for us.
We believe with God’s Leading, this is the year for us to begin to see the promises of God fulfilled and for us to begin to enter into all that God has for us, remembering there are still battles to be won. We are planning events around some strategic times during this year and in October we will be celebrating our 40 years with an exciting week’s mission. We are hoping to reach all age groups as we plan multiple simultaneous outreaches into our area using Emmanuel as a base. We will need YOU to be involved in this, throughout the year and at the time also. It will require much prayer, time, commitment and money but we believe now is the time!
